Tramonto

Pacific Palisades, CA

This is Hutchins’ own abode, a true labor of love and testament to her vision and innate ability to create spaces with unexpected, yet cohesive design choices. Rooms infused with seemingly endless natural light are complemented by a sun-bleached color palette and peaceful allure.

Walls were painted using All White by Farrow & Ball, leaving furnishings and textiles to showcase her love of unexpected color choices. Metallic accents pop on hardware and textiles like a silver metallic linen banquette in the kitchen, and a shell-inlay hot pink dresser with coordinating mirror from India in her daughter’s room.

Vintage finds punctuate the design throughout with the pièce de la résistance being a prized Marcello Mioni vintage lucite bed as the focal point of the master bedroom. A bright, airy beach house that feels like home; a perfect marriage of refined custom elements and unique vintage flair that creates a gorgeous dialogue of color and light.

“One trait that separates great designers from good ones is vision. And vision is something that Kristen has in spades. When we first moved into our house, it was dated and tired, but Kristen saw through the stuffy, crusty primary colored layers and envisioned a bright, airy, cool & comfy home that was not only right for our family, but befitting of the beachy vibe of our Pacific Palisades neighborhood.”
